In March 2020, the world was shocked by the news of a terrible pandemic, but in addition to the horrific health consequences, many people also faced financial problems. Berenice Pacheco from Los Angeles had been working as a saleswoman in a shoe store for a long time. She tried to make ends meet, but as soon as the store closed during lockdown, the woman was laid off, like so many others. And if Berenice's colleagues had at least some way to handle this situation, the woman of our story was left with nothing, because her family had lost their only source of income. This situation was further aggravated by the fact that the woman was raising three children on her own. She also had a bank loan hanging over her head. Berenice’s relatives shrugged their shoulders and expressed their concern, but that was all they could do, since they were in a very similar situation and had no way of helping the unfortunate woman.
