Proctoscope, and Rectoscope are one and the same. “Procto” is rectum. So if you want to see inside the rectum, then it is a a Proctoscopy or a Rectoscopy, whereas anoscopy is a smaller area you will be seeing. Most of the times when we don’t see only the anal canal, we will go a little deeper into the last part of the rectum. So many times there is overlapping and so when we are doing Proctoscopy, Anoscopy or Rectoscopy it is also one and the same. the terminology may be a little different. Practically it may be the same.
