HAD TO MAKE A CUSTOM SHIFT FORK!!💪 TRANS IS FINALLY DONE 🏁
Finally got the 02M DONE!!!
We did everything we could to make this as strong as we could(using stock gears).
Even had to make a custom shift steel fork. The jig I made was great! Definitely held it in the correct location and allowed me to weld on the arm for the selector shaft. If you have an 02M transmission with the solid aluminum case like in the video, and the same reverse fork, the 5/6 and reverse steel fork will not work.
Our transmission code is FSR.
You could do the same as I did and weld it together and just use the brass reverse shift fork and be fine. I used a tig welder but mig would be great too!! As long as you get it in the right location your good!
We used HondaBond 4 semi drying gasket for the case half, I use that stuff on every case I got!! It works great and is cheep!!
Will our SPEC CLUTCH hold up or not?? Did yours?? Never used one before....
I also think its a good idea to use Red Loctite (262) on everything that will be catastrophic if it falls out. Its easy insurance. You can easily take the bolts back out, it doesn't WELD itself to the threads. Just the way I like doing things....
Ill update this description when were out ripping on this trans for a while to let you know if anything could have been done different/better and how much power its holding up to..
