Off Grid Winter Water Source: Develop and Haul Water from a Spring?

We could really use an off grid winter water source and if we could haul water from a spring it would be way better than melting snow on the wood stove.

We found this spring while hunting a few years ago and it has proven to remain open all year round. The problem is that it's 400m off the main trail and across some pretty marshy stuff. Our only chance at a trail is if we can clear all the brush and then wait for really cold weather to freeze the flooded stretch. We probably only need to collect a couple hundred gallons to get through the heart of winter. A winter water source has been on our list for years and its nice to finally get to it. Our off grid rain water collection system works great for most of the year but over winter we get no rain for up to 5 months. A year round water source is really enticing and everything considered it's not that hard to haul water from a spring.
