Overnight Oil Treatment | Relaxed Hair Wash Day Preshampoo (Prepoo) Treatment | Relaxed Hair Care

Relaxed Hair Care. Every 2 weeks my relaxed hair wash day starts of with a preshampoo oil treatment. Sometimes I do it overnight but other times on the same day.

If you warm the oils gently this would be the equivalent of a hot oil treatment
I usually follow up with a Sulphate shampoo to clean my scalp properly. Oils tend to make my hair shed a lot and also makes my scalp tight and itchy so I only oil my scalp before washing.

For the weeks that I am not doing an oil treatment I would do a protein preshampoo treatment such as a rice water treatment, Aloe Vera gel or protein conditioner.

I am still figuring out a regimen for my hair but oil treatments have been a consistent part of my hair routine for many years. Preshampoo Treatment with Oils penetrate the hair and form a protective layer so that when the shampoo hits the hair it doesnt dry out the strands.
