Romanian Patriotic Song - "Trei culori" (Original Lyrics) 🎵

"Trei culori" is a Romanian patriotic song written and composed by Ciprian Porumbescu. The title refers to the national flag of Romania, which is a blue-yellow-red tricolour. It has not undergone major changes. Only the distribution of the colors (in point of proportion and position) was changed to a certain extent, being made equal after the abortive Romanian revolution of 1848. The Romanian principalities were among the many European states during that time that were inspired by the French revolutionary spirit to make a dimensionally standardized tricolour banner as their national flag.

Trei culori was also the national anthem of the Socialist Republic of Romania from 1977 to 1990, although with a different set of lyrics. On 24 January 1990, after the Romanian Revolution, it was officially replaced by "Deșteaptă-te, române!".

Tricolorul cunoscul și sub numele „Trei culori” a fost imnul național al Republicii Socialiste România din anul 1977 și până la Revoluția din 1989. A fost înlocuit cu Deșteaptă-te, române!, cântec patriotic compus în perioada Revoluției de la 1848.

Imnul de Stat al R.S.R. are același titlu și aceeași muzică cu cântecul original (muzică și text compuse de Ciprian Porumbescu), dar are un text modificat.

Textul, atât al cântecul patriotic original, cât și al imnului - dar în cazul acestuia, puternic împănat cu elemente ale ideologiei epocii, într-o mai mică masură - se referă la Drapelul României, un tricolor, adică un steag cu trei culori de mărime egală: roșu, galben și albastru. De-a lungul istoriei culorile au rămas aceleași, numai poziția sau proporția lor s-a schimbat. Tricolorul românesc a fost inspirat după revoluția de la 1848 de tricolorul Revoluției franceze, așa cum este cazul și în alte țări europene.
