Ginataang Tulingan is a Filipino dish wherein fish is cooked in coconut milk along with bokchoy (pechay) or eggplant and other ingredients. The fish used in this recipe is locally referred to as tulingan. It is also known as bullet tuna.
This dish is requested by my ate Gemma (hope she enjoyed 😊)
This is my own version of Ginataang Tulingan..
INGREDIENTS:
2 kilo Tulingan
2 small onion, chopped
1 inch ginger
1 med tomato
5-6 green chili
2 red chili (optional)
1-2 tbsp Patis (add as per your taste)
1/cup Vinegar
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper
Bunch of Pechay
2 cups coconut milk (extracted from 2 whole coconut)
NOTE: Clean the fish properly and remove the tail
HOW TO REMOVE THE TAIL OF TULINGAN:
Remove the tail of the fish by twisting it in a 360 degree angle and then pull it off gently. You will know if you did it correctly when a portion of the meat is attached to the tail.
