Community tour fest spotlights local, nutritious food in West Long Beach
Local eateries, urban gardens and farmers offered the community free samples, live music and food education as part of a community tour event in West Long Beach on Sunday.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for an afternoon of food and local shopping, attendees of the Everybody Eats Festival learned about how local businesses and organizations are doing their part to bring more fresh and nutritious food to the area.
Tony Damico, co-directer of Long Beach Fresh, who helped organize the event, said that his group's next goal is to launch a "food hub" in West Long Beach with Food Finders next.
