Bone Stockers - Stihl ms362R vs Echo cs-620pw - How Close Are They???
Filmed in July, 2020
A lot of the time I will give the proud new owner of Hi-Zoot customized zippkit time to run their saw for "a bit" before posting videos.
It was a bit windy on this day. A few times the dusts did drown out the dialog. I therefore edited out some of the blasts. This segment did lose a little of the explanation but I do think that the overall meaning is retained.
Thankfully, nobody hit the deck that day.
As mentioned, this was the 1st time I had these two in stock form in my shop at the same time. They were as close to the same amount of run time as you can get with just a few heat cycles on both.
I found the power differential to be quite interesting between these two saws. The 362 is all “on the pipe” topend. Whereas the 620 is more of an old school lowend grunter. I’ve never been a “phan” of the newer, all up top, power band machines that some companies are producing currently.
These two are pound different on the scales in dry and wet trim.
I sure wish that the bar studs were at least the 9mm diameter of all the latest 60cc & up pro version Husqvarna saws.
Looking at the timed runs:
Echo 620 at 12,660 wot went 7.95 down and 8.35 up
Stihl 362 at 13,620 wot went 7.90 down and 7.55 up
So at ~ 1000 less in rpms the 620 took about the same to get through the cuts. The feel telescoped to the handle bars & pistol grip is one of more lowend. I imagine that if the 620 was spun up another 500 rpms it would have bested the 362, stock for stock.
At the time of your viewing this, I may, or may not, be immediately available for custom saw modifications. Most of the time I am booked months in advance. If you are interested in a Saw Shop Makeover for one of your mo-chines, please shoot me an email. That is the best, 1st point of contact.
