Buying Kitchen Cabinets for 2021 - Beginner's Guide

This video is based on a recent request from a subscriber to highlight some of the differences between wood and MDF/HDF cabinets. Aside from the obvious cost difference of the two products, there are some differences in their inherent characteristics as well. We will highlight some of these differences and then focus on some of the basic features in cabinet construction to be familiar with when you go to shop for cabinets. Some of these features include things like standard vs full overlay doors and drawers, drawer glides, cushion close, as well as different joinery methods for the drawers, doors, and overall boxes.

As I mention in the video, there are a multitude of things we could focus on with cabinets so this video is designed as a jumping off point to give you some of the things to look for in cabinets functions and features.
