The Legend Pyarelal ji coaching me (Raju Chithambaram) -- (Song: Patta Patta Boota Boota)

The legend walked me to the upright piano, and had me render “Patta patta”, one phrase at a time, the way he had directed Lata ji & Rafi Sahab. At one point, I naively asked Pyarelal ji if the embellishment was directed by Pyare ji or if Lata ji improvised the song. He admonished me with “Composer kaun hai?” :)
It took me an hour and a half to absorb a minuscule fraction of his genius.
