Failed RV Power Door Awning, Repaired for FREE! | Dometic Oasis Elite Awning Repair | RV DIY Repair

When the Dometic / A&E Oasis Elite power door awning on our RV died, we were potentially facing a bill of $1,000 or more. We ended up repairing it ourselves at ZERO cost. Here's how!

Even if you don't end up having to replace the entire awning, a replacement motor (a common point of failure) can run nearly $700. If cleaning and lubricating the motor doesn't do the trick for free, a new motor should really only cost a little over $200. You just have to know where to buy it. ;-)

An additional challenge was that our awning failed while closed, leaving no obvious access to remove, dismantle or repair it. We'll share the hidden trick for how to open it, without using a crowbar!

The Dometic / A&E Oasis Elite power RV door awning is actually made by a company called Fiamma, who sells replacement motors direct, for a fraction of the "Dometic" motor price.
