Winter fly fishing from the bank can be very rewarding for those anglers prepared to brave the colder temperatures. In this weeks vlog I visit a venue I am very familiar with from a boat but I am a relative novice to the bank fishing at Rutland Water.

I am joined by Tom Finney for todays video who offers some handy tips about how to approach a venue like Rutland at this time of year. He also covers being comfortable when the temperatures are starting to drop.

It was evident from the outset that there are a lot of fish in front of the harbour and huge shoals of Rainbow trout were feeding hard a little further out. The boats were making short work of them. Our goal for the day was to catch one of the big Brown trout that are still feeding hard on the fry. Would the day be a success?
