Making a Lidar scanner in the home shop with a lathe, a pair of STM32s, and a Garmin Lidar Lite

This is a hobby build Lidar using the Garmin Lite V3 range finder module. The design work was done in Fusion 360 CAD and the Eagle PCB layout editor. The mechanical build was with a Warco lathe and mill. PCBWay were used to manufacture the microcontroller boards, with both running STM32 family devices. The 'C' embedded code was created using STM Cube and the Keil compiler tool chain. Graphical rendering was via the Unity game engine and C#.

A massive thanks to Sandrine at Ultimate Records and Scann-Tec for the music (https://ultimae.com/) , and a massive thanks to Meka Games for the loan of the zombies! Finally a big thanks to the church for permission to scan the building..
