In mid-April 2018 we had a nice break in the weather and decided to take a quick 2 night excursion to Dolly Sods wilderness area, part of the Monongahela National Forest. I brought my brother (who doesn't appear on camera) and my dog with me, we met up with my son and his wife at camp a few hours after we arrived. We hiked a relatively short loop, entering at Bear Rocks trailhead and exiting via Blackbird Knob trail (roughly 7 miles total). My son and daughter-in-law split off from us after camp each night and chose to hike longer loops totaling around 15 miles. This was my first time getting back into serious hiking and camping in about 27 years, though my dog and I have done plenty of shorter day hikes through the years. She just turned 12 and as you can see, she is still very agile. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to bring her out to this epic place. I really enjoyed making this video, I hope you enjoyed watching it! I am a huge fan of watching hiking and camping videos, I find them very relaxing. In the middle of this video I did a little tribute to David Gray and his DD coffee! When I watch this, I realized that it looks a little like I'm making fun of him, but that couldn't be further from the truth lol! He makes great videos.
