Myouterspace is thrilled to announce the Captain of Starship Orion: the wonderfully talented Amanda Tapping. Her resume includes ranks from Major to Colonel, and as executive producer of the Syfy show Sanctuary, we think the future crew of the Orion is in for a stellar mission.

In this clip from Myouterspace's first live webcast event, Shatner and Tapping first discuss the possibility of her becoming a Starship Captain.

Orion's project will be "The Zenoids", an animated series Myouterspace is working on with William Shatner and Amanda Tapping, featuring their voice talents in the story of a family of space-faring Amphibinoid musicians. Amanda Tapping stars as the enigmatic Dr. Helen Magnus in the popular Syfy series Sanctuary. She is also the Executive Producer of the show and has shown her talents as Director as well over the course of the series.

Amanda is best known for her record-breaking 10 seasons as the brilliant Air Force Colonel Samantha Carter in Stargate SG-1, as well as a season on the popular spin-off show Stargate Atlantis.

Last year, she co-founded the charitable organization Sanctuary for Kids, supporting children in crisis both locally and abroad, which has raised more than $200,000 in just over a year.
