NOTE: This is a re-upload of our old video posted December 2, 2020, that was edited due to some technical difficulties. Thank you :)
26 years ago, in the early hours of 2 December 1994, the M/V Cebu City of William Lines Incorporated (WLI) sank at Manila Bay, after a collision with the container vessel M/V Kota Suria.
The M/V Cebu City was bound for Tagbilaran after a late departure from Manila, when the larger container vessel rammed its starboard side, causing a gaping hole on the passenger ship’s hull that led to its sinking some thirty minutes after the collision.
While around 501 passengers and crew survived, 71 lost their lives, and 26 remain missing.
We will tackle her glorious and illustrious career as the M/V Cebu City and its role in Philippine Shipping before she met her untimely demise. You will learn more information plus fun facts when you be able to finish the video.
Inside the video is a 3D Simulation (of both M/V Cebu City and M/V Kota Suria) and be able to imagine what could have happened during its sinking. So please check it out :)
We at PSSS would like to extend our sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives, as well as to those who survived this horrendous mishap.
