In this video I'll be taking a look at the BluGuitar AMP1 Mercury Edition.

The BluGuitar AMP1 is a 100w Class-D amp in a pedal form. It's the ultimate amp for any musicians who travel a lot and need to pack lightly, or just anyone who wants great tube tones without having a huge amp.

With the AMP1 you can power any guitar cab that runs at 8 or 16 ohm or you can use the headphone out to go direct to PA, your recording interface or in ear monitors. The headphone out has a built in cab sim.

The amp is powered by a Nanotube which is essentially a shrunk down vacuum tube, similar to the ones in all our favourite amps, except the Nanotube is designed to last a lifetime. It requires much less power to run and is exempt from the usual wear-and-tear of full size tubes.

The AMP1 has 4 channels ranging from totally clean to high gain and it can be dialled into any sound imaginable. It does everything from sparkling American cleans to 80s metal tones in the flick of a switch.

In the video I am running the AMP1 into a Kool Amplification 1x12 speaker cab which is loaded with a Celestion Creamback speaker. The cab is mic'd with a Lewitt Audio LCT440. I am playing a Shergold Provocateur and a Jackson Adrian Smith SDX in the video.
