Your Driving Test May Not Be Safe | Examiners Vote To Strike | Driving theory UK

In this video I will explain why your driving test may not be safe as the driving examiners union, the PCS, have voted to strike if the DVSA decide to bring in the extra time slot.

On the 11th of October 2021, the DVSA have decided after their trial to add an extra time slot to the examiner's schedule, increasing the number of tests they do a day from seven to eight.

The union (PCS) have concerns around both the wellbeing of members and the health and safety implications to the public of introducing an additional test to an already time-pressured schedule.

The extra time slot would open an additional 15,000-20,000 driving tests per month. If this goes ahead, it will extend the backlog that is already there.

If you have a test booked for and after the 11th of October and a strike takes place, your test may get cancelled if the driving examiner is part of the PCS union. Not all examiners are part of the PCS union, so still, turn up for your driving test.

I recommend watching driving lessons video's on YouTube; I'm a big believer in visual content, as visualisation is vastly underrated.

I recommend that you have a few driving lessons in the area you will have your driving test regardless of which DVSA driving test centre you use. With the waiting time for the driving test at its all-time high, you need to stack the cards in your favour to give you the best possible chance of passing.
