On the hardware side, you must configure your smartphone or router to act as a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Hotspot, ensuring the SSID (12345678) and Password (12345678) match the credentials defined in your Arduino IDE sketch. Within the code, ensure the ADAFRUIT_IO_USERNAME and ADAFRUIT_IO_KEY variables are accurately filled to establish a handshake with the server. After uploading the code, open the Serial Monitor at 115200 baud to verify that the NodeMCU successfully connects to your hotspot and acquires an IP address. Once the connection is stable, go to the Adafruit IO dashboard and link a "Gauge" or "Text Block" to your moisture feed to visualize the incoming data. If the hotspot name or password contains special characters, it is best to simplify them to avoid connection timeouts. Finally, ensure your mobile data is active on the hotspot device so the NodeMCU can push the local sensor data to the global cloud platform.
