MARILYN MONROE’s first job was in a Factory?

Take a trip back to the 1940s during World War 2 with me!
We had gone to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library during their WW2 exhibit and saw some amazing artifacts from the time. One section shows Marilyn Monroe's photo back when she was known simply as Norma Jeane.
Back in 1944, She had moved in with her in-laws (from her 1st marriage to Jimmy Dougherty) and began a job at the Radioplane Company, a munitions factory in Van Nuys, California.
Norma later met photographer David Conover, who had been sent by the U.S. Army Air Forces' First Motion Picture Unit to the factory to shoot morale-boosting pictures of female workers.
Thus, her modeling career began!

I also adore the silk parachute wedding gown that was made by a bride with the very parachute that saved her fiance's life during the war. Everything during wartime was strictly rationed, so it was not only very practical to use the silk from the parachute as it was a rare commodity but also incredibly meaningful and appropriate to use the very thing that saved his life as her wedding gown material.

The dress is from @uniquevintage Their Lucille Ball collection
Heels are from @AmericanDuchess1
Purse is from The Bettie Page Store

All bought and paid for by myself. Not Sponsored, just love their items:)
