Poda Pitha Recipe ( Odia ) | Biri Chaula Poda Pitha : Here I have prepared the Odisha famous Poda Pitha ( Baked Cake ) using white gram ( biri / urad dal ) and rice in a pressure cooker. This baked cake ( Poda pitha ) is a sweet dish and generally enjoyed during the 4 days of " Raja festival " . Ingredients :
1. Raw Rice - 2 cups
2. White gram ( Biri / urad dal ) - 1 cup + 2 tbsp ( or you can also take 1 cup of white gram )
3. Grated coconut - 1/2 no ( 1 cup )
4. Cottage cheese ( chhena ) - 100 gm ( or 1/2 cup )
5. Jaggery ( guda / gud ) - 50 gm ( or use as required )
6. Crushed green cardamom - 6 nos
7. Clarified butter ( ghee ) - ( 2-3 tbsp )
8. Sliced coconut
9. Cashew nuts
10. Bay leaves - 2 no
11. Black pepper powder - 1 tsp
12. Salt to taste
