The Cemetery on Devils Step Island Tims Ford Lake

Join us for a VIDEO trek to Shasteen Cemetery on Devil's Step Island. The cemetery is a very short walk up the hill from the where you land your boat. Remember, this cemetery was originally located on a beautiful hilltop, until the lake was flooded. Now it's referred to as "an abandoned cemetery", however, given the circumstances, it's not in bad shape. Falling trees seem to have done their share of damage, but thankfully, it seems to be untouched by vandalism, which was very nice to see. Someone skilled in gravestone restoration should really visit the island and see what they can do. Here's some of the names on the stones...
