El viaje, de aproximadamente 4 kilómetros, dura entre 40 y 45 minutos y puede variar debido a condiciones climáticas. Sale desde la estación de La Poveda y llega al apeadero de Laguna del Campillo, donde los pasajeros pueden observar la maniobra de cambio de sentido. Luego regresa a La Poveda, donde está ubicado un pequeño museo ferroviario.

In 1990, a group of railroad enthusiasts acquired an old steam locomotive that was about to be scrapped. Over time, they managed to rebuild this historical piece and also restore the La Poveda (Arganda) to La Laguna del Campillo (Rivas) section of the old Tajuña railway line (which ceased operation in 1997). Thus, in 2003, that train that once had its own place in popular sayings was resurrected: "El tren de Arganda, que pita más que anda" ("The Arganda train, which whistles more than it moves").
The journey, about 4 kilometers long, takes between 40 and 45 minutes. Being a historic train, the duration may vary slightly depending on weather conditions, and in extreme situations, the steam locomotive may be replaced by its diesel counterpart. It departs from La Poveda station in Arganda del Rey, where its headquarters and museum are located, and glides through clouds of steam to the Laguna del Campillo stop, on the shores of the large water pool that gives it its name, in the neighboring town of Rivas-Vaciamadrid. There, passengers can disembark to watch the 10-minute maneuver to change direction before returning to Arganda. Finally, the train heads back to La Poveda, where visitors can explore the small railway museum, which showcases memories and antiques from the railway world and recreates the atmosphere of a historic station.
During this journey, the train crosses the Jarama River twice over a spectacular 175-meter-long iron bridge, a historic setting for battles during the Battle of Jarama in the Spanish Civil War.
