10 Creepiest Thigs Found in Abandoned Buildings
Urban exploration is not for the faint of heart, especially if you find any of these during your
explorations. Today, we will be looking at 10 of the creepiest things found in abandoned buildings. I’ve
left the creepiest, most unexplainable discovery for number one. If you want to find out what it is, you
better stay tuned.

Number 10. A Bathtub Full of Brains
When entering abandoned buildings, you pretty much already have an idea of what you’re going to find
in there. You’d expect to find signs of decay, maybe a personal item or two from previous owners,
probably even canned food unopened for a number of years. But I bet that you won’t be expecting this
first entry on our list, not in a million years.
An anonymous poster uploaded this photo of a bathtub full of brains in the WTF Reddit forum. The
poster didn’t explain much, not that he needed to as it’s pretty clear what we are seeing here, but he
didn’t provide important details like the where’s and the when’s.
Since this is reddit, of course a lot of unsubstantiated back stories popped up. One of which says that the
bathtub of brains was found in an old abandoned hospital, how cliché can you get. The story further
states that the police were even notified of this gruesome discovery.
Whether or not that story is true, most reddit users seem to agree on one thing; that the brains are real
and it takes a high level of indifference to be able to chuck them all in a tub and forgotten.

Number 9. The Merrylin Collection
In 2006, construction workers were bulldozing a place to make way for a new suburban block. All of a
sudden, they came across an old mansion which used to belong to a man named Thomas Theodore
Merrylin. In the old basement, they came across a number of peculiar wooden boxes. Thinking that they
came across something valuable. Like gold or treasure, the workers started to open the boxes one by
one. They weren’t prepared for what they would find.
Inside the boxes were the mummified remains and skeletons of creatures we now call cryptids;
creatures that are thought to be mythological yet to be discovered by science. The boxes contained
skeletons of fairies and dragons, and a few other creatures that were quite difficult to describe.
Since their discovery, the collection has sparked an animated debate between naturalists. While some
truly believe that the find will forever change science, others dismiss it as an elaborate hoax. But to me,
the bigger mystery is what were those boxes doing in the basement? And what kind of person is
Merrylin to have such a collection?

Number 8. A Naked Doll Collection
When exploring an abandoned petting zoo, there are certain things that you would expect to find there.
Probably the worse would be the rotting remains of sheep, goats, and chickens but I’m happy to report
that no such things were found by the intrepid urban explorer responsible for this creepy photo you are
about to see.

zoo.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=986&dpr=1.5
Yep, dolls. Naked dolls and it looks like there are hundreds of them inside that barn. There is a perfectly
reasonable explanation for the dolls being there. It’s most probable that the owners of the petting zoo
ordered a gazillion of these dolls to sell in their gift shop, but never expected to close down soon after.
But that’s no fun at all.
I prefer to believe that this is the work of a deranged doll collector hell bent on getting his hands every
single one of these generic looking dolls to be a part of his twisted collection. That’s highly unlikely
though, but it makes for a good story.

Number 7. Drugs in a Candy Store
Well, not really a candy store, but a candy factory. The McCormicks Candy Factory in London, Ontario
was closed down and seized by the government due to non-payment of taxes. It was originally
constructed in 1913 and operated until its closure in 2008. It is now a very popular place for urban
explorers, even saying that this is the perfect place for beginners.
