Learn to play ZZ Top's " La Grange" on 3 string cigar box guitar, with Chickenbone John

Here's a one chord favourite of mine, based on John Lee Hooker's one chord boogie style - La Grange by ZZ Top. The important thing is the rhythm, and it is vital to get that driving beat - if you've followed my blues shuffle videos, this should be a fairly natural progression. It's pretty repetitive, and the key is to nail that beat as a bedrock foundation so that you can embellished it with rhythmical and melodic flourishes. You don't need to move up and down the fretboard much, and indeed the secret is to keep in pretty much the one position with the left hand, we won't go much outside the 3rd and 5th frets for the whole number. Economy of movement with the fretting hand is what it's all about.
