Camping and Van Life - The Dredge to Hell

Every spring my friend Matt and I spend a week camping on the Oregon side of Hells Canyon. Hells Canyon is one of my very favorite places in Oregon to live the van life, I don't believe there is a more wild and scenic area in Oregon. This year on our way down we stopped in the little town of Sumpter Oregon to see the Dredge. The Dredge is a major part of Oregon's gold mining history. The Dredge was built in 1935 and was in service until 1954. It's awesome to tour the Dredge and see the ingenuity of forefathers but I am very glad the Dredge was taken out of service as it was very destructive to the land.
