Curved Vortex in a Box

I've got 2 new inline fans that work great for vortex experiments.

This time we wanted to make a 90 degrees curved vortex, in a box. In a box because then; the surrounding air can’t disturb the vortex.

Cool thing of a vortex in a box; there are no blowing fans needed to feed the rotation.
There’s just one suction hole, and the amount of air coming in, through the curved air intakes, is exactly equal to the amount of air going out.

Note that the curved air intakes have a honeycomb in them, to give the incoming air the right direction. This proved to be essential.
Also note the chicken wire in the front right corner. Without it, air starts to swirl there, disturbing the vortex.

As you can see; the vortex isn’t steady. A bit of pulsing is normal, but there is some cause breaking it up all the time.

We learned that it is pretty stupid to make a curved vortex in a square box. But we got it to work, kind of.
