In a video message, the Holy Father noted that in the past century, Catholics in China have endured "times of patience and trial" and he encouraged them "to testify to their faith through works of mercy and charity, while promoting the harmony of social coexistence." This conference comes almost 6 years after an agreement between the Vatican and China on the appointment of bishops in China. Rocca tells us more about that.
