Tie-Dye Tutorial / Valentines Day Heart / Easy & Fun!

Tie-Dye Valentines Day Heart Pattern Instructions.
1 - T-Shirt has been washed and soaked in soda ash (1 cup soda ash per 1 gallon of warm water) for 20 minutes then spun out in the washer so the material is damp but not dripping wet.
2 - Fold the t-shirt in half and draw on your heart following the video instructions.
3 - Pleat Fold the heart design and secure with kite string. Pleat Fold the remaining fabric of the shirt and secure with rubber bands.
4 - Choose your dye colors. For my Valentines Day Heart I chose Hot Pink, Hot Hibiscus, and Chinese Red.
5 - Allow your project to sit undisturbed for 24 hours then rinse starting with cold water to remove the soda ash. Increase water temperature to warm/hot while squeezing the material to remove the excess dye.
6 - Remove the kite string and rubber bands and open your new Valentines Day Heart!
7 - Wash t-shirt by itself with hot water (I use Synthrapol Textile Detergent) without fabric softener and hang dry for the first time. After that wash and dry like normal.
8 - HAVE FUN and as always...HAPPY TIE DYEING!
