How we lit the World's tallest annual bonfire - Slinningsbålet 2015 (34m)

The ignition of the worlds largest annual bonfire - made exclusively by the use of the hands of youth between 12-23 years of age. The video shows 6 of the bonfire-builders freeclimbing the bonfire to ignite it. The fire is an annual tradition to celebrate midsummer and St. John, and the only one of its kind still alive today. The bonfire is located in Ålesund, Norway on a small artificial island outside Slinningen, an outer district of Ålesund. In 2015 it was measured to 34m, and the bonfires are built 100% with only wooden pallets. In the year of 2016 the bonfire measured 47.396m tall and broke the world record for world's tallest bonfire, approved by Guinness: http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/tallest-bonfire
