Maradona: A Special Report (BBC, 1994)

A documentary about Diego Armando Maradona, aired in the immediate wake of his sensational expulsion from the 1994 World Cup finals in the United States. The report - hurriedly compiled while full details were still breaking - was broadcast on either BBC1 or BBC2 between Argentina's June 30th group stage defeat to Bulgaria and memorable last-16 encounter with Romania on July 3rd; the team's fortunes would ultimately flounder in tandem with those of its spiritual talisman. The report is narrated by Bob Wilson.
