I think creatives need exposure therapy | Kelly Kit
Hey Kitted Souls, In this video, I discuss personal challenges to overcome fear of being seen by challenging myself to share more spontaneously and after doing this video & and research, I discovered Exposure Therapy and what I'm expressing is a form of it:
Exposure therapy is a psychological treatment designed to help people confront their fears, anxieties, or traumatic memories in a safe and controlled way. It's most often used to treat anxiety disorders, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
How It Works:
The basic idea behind exposure therapy is “facing your fear” rather than avoiding it. Avoidance may offer short-term relief, but it actually strengthens the fear over time. Exposure helps reduce that fear response gradually through repeated and systematic confrontation with the feared object, situation, or thought.
In Vivo Exposure
Direct exposure to the feared object or situation in real life.
Example: Someone afraid of dogs slowly interacts with a friendly dog.
