Jesus Rivera, '21 Master of Public Safety Leadership and Administration — emergency medical services — Mobile Integrated Healthcare, graduated from Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions after earning his degree through ASU Online. Rivera, a Surprise, Arizona, resident, serves as the battalion chief for the city of Surprise Fire-Medical Department where he has worked for 24 years. Rivera attributes earning his degree online at ASU to his growth as a leader. “Learning how to manage the program, how to be a better leader, how to be more professional, how to be a better battalion chief, how to be a better father, those are all things that I've learned and I've been able to obtain from the ASU program,” he says. “These are things that I would not have achieved if I had not attended Arizona State University.”
