Taking out an old gravity system and installing an Ideal Vogue Combi Boiler with 3rd generation gen Nest Learning Thermostat, 10 years parts and labour warranty My name's Allen Hart, and today we're working in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. We're checking out an old gravity system of a hot water cylinder. We're going to replace it with an Ideal Vogue combination boiler with a 10 year parts and labour warranty.

Here we've protected all the carpets, and now we're starting to take out the boiler. We're just going to remove the case now, and now we're going to drain the system down. As you can see here, the system is very mucky, it's very, very mucky, so we're going to have to give it a really good clean out. We've got his old balance flow hole here, so we're going to brick that up now. We just got Paul Dickens having a cup of tea.

So we've removed the hot water cylinder now, and the tank's in the loft. So you just put the Vogue on the wall now. Paul's outside doing a bit of brickwork. So we're just going to flush the system now, so we've got a magna-cleanse on here. It's going to take us time to give this a really good flush because the system is very, very mucky.

So we're just going to have a look at the magnets now in this filter. Wow. This magna-cleanse is absolutely amazing. It's really, really good. So this is the second magnet, so that's not quite as mucky as the first one. So let's look at those again. So, as you can see there, the amount of muck on this magnet, it's absolutely amazing how much muck you can get in a central heating system. Bearing in mind this system has got full new rads. All the rads are brand new.

So we've just got Paul now, finishing off the brickwork. He's done an amazing job of that, it looks really good.

So we've just put some brass clips on this outside, just to make it look a bit neater. So I've just got a terminal guard on there as well, because the flue is less than two metres, so it needs to have a terminal guard installed.

So we're just going to commission the boiler now, and set it all up. We installed his Nest thermostat on here as well. So the customer can control it from their phone and all the leads in it.

So we're using this test tube here, to test the water quality. So as you can see there it's really clean now. It weren't like this to start with, so we'd give it a really good flush to get it like this.

So now we've finished flushing the system, we've fitted a magna-clean, and we've put some F1, some Fernox F1 inhibitor, so we've got a Nest thermostat receiver there as well. So we've just got his nice flap there that just comes down nice and slow, to reveal our Vogue 32 with 10 year parts and labour warranty. So that's his Nest thermostat that we've installed, so customer can use and control the heating on the internet.
