The Future of the Museums with Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO
This year’s 125th anniversary of the de Young and the forthcoming centenary of the Legion of Honor in 2024 offer a moment to pause and look deeply at where the Fine Arts Museums come from, what they are today, and what we hope the Museums will become. Join director and CEO Thomas P. Campbell for an in-depth conversation about the 2020–2026 Museum Plan, a blueprint for how the Museums can leverage their encyclopedic art collections, community-driven programs, and unique geographic location to connect more deeply with audiences amid profound local and global cultural change. Campbell will also explore how, with this plan, the Museums can reconnect to their history and founding as a civic institution while continually evolving to meet the needs of a globally oriented future. Following the presentation, all members are encouraged to engage in the conversation in a Q&A session with Campbell.
