How to Make Matcha? Tips for Whisking

To make pure matcha tea, it's simple.
1. Get real and pure high-quality matcha (vibrant green, sweet vegetal aroma, see

for the best ceremonial-grade organic matcha from the farm outside Kyoto in Japan);
2. Get a bamboo whisk (also available on encha.life)
3. Find a bowl that is 4" wide and 3" deep (enough room for whisking)
4. Tips on whisking
-vertically hold the matcha bamboo whisk, not side-way
-shake the whisk rapidly by shaking your wrist, not your arm, to get the speed
-avoid scratching the bottom of the bowl in whisking
-once you see bright green froth, slow down gradually in zig-zag pattern around the bowl.
-finish it up by circulating the whisk gently around the bowl.
-the ideal look is a microfoam smooth surface
5. Amount
-ratio of 1 level tsp of matcha to 5 oz of 160 F water for a light smooth matcha tea or 4 oz of water for a stronger taste.
