If you’re looking for a foolproof way to print on a hoodie, follow these steps!

First, press your hoodie with your heat press for ten seconds to iron out the garment and remove any moisture. For this project, we recommend threading the hoodie through the heat press as well as the DTG printer to avoid creating any indentations from the pocket on the front of the garment.

Next, it’s time to pretreat the hoodie! Hoodies are a much thicker material so you’ll need to saturate the printing area with twice as much pretreatment solution as you would with a T-shirt. Since you will be using more, Guillermo suggests using the bracket from your printer to mark where the pretreatment solution will go to avoid getting any excess on the other parts of the hoodie.

After pretreating the hoodie, you’ll want to press the garment once again to cure it. Keep pressing it until you feel the hoodie is dry and the Teflon sheet isn’t sticking to the solution. Once you’re done, the hoodie is ready to be printed on.

Like we mentioned before, make sure to thread your hoodie through the DTG printer so that the side you are printing on is lying flat on the printer’s surface and the other side is hanging below.

Press start and you’re off!
