Lo Moon - Planet Caravan (Black Sabbath Cover)

Let’s imagine Black Sabbath in 1970 stepping into Regent Studios just four months after their massive debut record was released to start work on what would become Paranoid. As the story goes this record was built mostly out of improvised in-studio jams, and there is no better demonstration of that than the third track Planet Caravan. I remember a very specific night on tour in freezing Montreal, where we sat in our hotel room and BLASTED Paranoid on repeat, while playing FIFA (YUP, I felt bad for the neighbors). After Planet Caravan ended we all sat there completely mesmerized. No matter how many times you’ve heard a record, when you share a moment like that it’s a feeling you don’t forget, THAT’S the power of music. The spirit of that song is something we are always striving to capture in our band, that je ne sais quoi, that lightning in a bottle. I don’t think there’s any doubt a ton of our favorite bands were inspired by this record and we put a little gem in our version that suggests one band you might recognize (wink wink). We hope you dig our take on the amazing Planet Caravan by Black Sabbath!
