The biggest mistake people make with AI is treating the first response like the final response. Draft one is usually safe, generic, and “good enough.” And if you accept it, you’re training yourself to live in average output.

A better move is to force the model into expert mode and make it critique itself. Ask it to rate what it just produced on a 1–10 scale and explain what’s missing. That one step reveals gaps you wouldn’t notice—clarity, depth, structure, proof, edge cases, tone, and specificity.

Then the power prompt: “Do whatever you need to do to make this a 10/10.” You’re not asking for another version—you’re demanding a standard. And standards are what turn AI from a toy into an expert assistant.
