Grapevine High School (Texas) defensive coordinator, Mike Alexander, teaches the shoulder leverage tackling method with the “Hawk Tackle” drill. In the drill, players will work on the positioning of their feet prior to making the tackle, as well as getting their shoulder into the strike zone of the offensive player.
