Tips on Household Goods
Deliveries are scheduled M-F 0080-2000 You will be contacted that your Household Goods (HHG) have arrived by email from the Defense Personal Property (DPS) shipment management. The email will have the local moving company contact information. You contact them to confirm the delivery.
Temporary Storage
Temporary Storage Personal property can be stored up to 90 days initially. For extensions beyond the 90 days contact the transportation office. More than 180 days requires an exception to policy. Civilians will need amended orders to extend storage. If amended orders are not provided, storage after 90 days will be charged to the individual.
Damage to Rental or Quarters
Ensure that you do a complete walk through with the movers prior to any furniture entering your home and after they complete delivery. If the movers damage your off post residence you must contact the landlord with the Moving Company’s information within 24 hours. Ensure that the crew chief annotates the damages on the survey sheet. If your government housing unit is damaged during your move in you will need to follow the same procedures in addition you will need to contact housing quality control inspectors within 24 hours.
