A personal tribute to our beloved boy, Toffee, our beautiful Saluki/Greyhound.
Who chose us while at Battersea Dogs Home, Old Windsor in 2011.

Around 14 years ago it was a beautiful day, much like today, clear bright blue skies, with the sun shining brightly. God had decided it was such a beautiful and perfect day and that had put him in a really good mood, so he decided to create something perfect like the day itself. He decided to make a dog. And do you know who that dog happened to be?

Toffee was a sweet, beautiful and intelligent boy, the best you could wish for. Full of love, great fun, with an instinct for cheering you up if you were feeling down. He had a strong hunting instinct and could easily catch his prey, sticks or ballies, and when he was younger could run faster than any dog that might try to take him on. The speed in which he could run would take your breath away! But at the same time he instinctively knew when to be gentle and tolerant, especially around children.

Toffee was a well travelled boy, we were together every single day and he came with us everywhere to places such as; Lands End, John O'Groats, North Wales, South Wales, Devon, Cornwall, Norfolk, London, the Yorkshire Dales, Pennines, The Lake District, Scarborough, Northumberland, and Scotland including the Outer Hebrides. And he climbed mountains, including Snowdon and Pen y Fan.

We have felt privileged to have Toffee as a prominent member of our family, and we will miss him deeply. We were with him holding him until his final breath. But we'll never let go of you our darling boy, there is a place in our hearts holding you tightly forever. We love you so much, and thank you for everything, run free darling 🌈

Deryl and I adored him and are devastated at losing him. Here we have made a short video montage of some of the finest moments with him that we will treasure forever.
