Ice accumulating on Gastonia roads as freezing rain intensifies

Bria Smith shares an update on road conditions in Gastonia as another line of freezing ramp impacts the Carolinas.

Chief meteorologist Brad Panovich voiced concern that Sunday afternoon's freezing rain could bring significant icing to the region.

"We've got major ice on the way," Panovich said. "Look at what's going on in Nashville, Tennessee. They got absolutely clobbered and that line of ice is coming our way ... Between about 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., I expect heavy freezing rain, could even be thunder ice, which is crazy to say. I can't believe that's coming out of my mouth, but that's what we could see. And that thunder ice could drop a quarter to a half-an-inch of ice in a few hours. So the power going out threat is not over." #Weather #News #Charlotte
