How to tie a variation on Peter Harrop's Red Devil

There are few in the Army Fly Fishing Federation that won't know the name Peter Harrop. He is a bit of a legend in our little club, always quick with a smile and some banter. Peter and his friend Brian are huge fishing fans and when they are not casting a fly they are often fishing for something else with different tackle.

Peter came up with this pattern some years back and it was a closely guarded secret for some time. Its a fly that looks out of proportion with the tiny wing and huge head. Do not be fooled though this is a fly that would be in my top ten box any time of the year.

I have changed it a little but essentially it's the same fly.
