Transforming our built environment: an introduction to regenerative development and design
In this Christchurch Conversation, Bill Reed introduces us to the practical concepts of regenerative development and design, to help us all create a deeper, more enduring and mutually beneficial relationship between people and place. After his talk, Bill is joined by Debbie Tikao (Matapopore) who facilitates a Q&A session.
Bill is an internationally recognised planning consultant, lecturer, and expert in sustainability and regeneration. He is a principal of Regenesis Inc. - an organisation working to lift green building and community planning into full integration and evolution with living systems. Regenerative development is a living systems meta-discipline that unifies the pattern practices of social and ecological design into a process that lifts people, building design, and community planning into a co-evolutionary relationship. The effect: improving the overall quality of the physical, social and spiritual aspects of our living places and the planet.
Christchurch Conversations He Whakawhiti Kōrero is a series of free talks where experts share ideas to inform Christchurch’s future. The Christchurch Conversations programme is presented by Christchurch City Council in partnership with Te Pūtahi – Christchurch centre for architecture and city-making. Bill Reed’s Christchurch Conversation is presented in association with the NZ Institute of Architects Canterbury Branch, Ohu and Matapopore.
