The Singapore Lie of Meritocracy

In response to the Prime Ministers Speech a few days ago, Party Leader of Peoples Voice Mr. Lim Tean has made 3 videos.
In this first video (9minutes), Lim Tean makes it clear how there is no such thing as meritocracy in Singapore and that just like the orginator of the word feared would happen, the elite in Singapore do indeed protect and enrich themselves pretending that what they have is all down to meritocracy.
Lim Team points out that every Singaporean is acutely aware that in our nation it is WHO you know, not WHAT you know which will elevate your status in life.

In 1958 British Labour MP Michael Young coined the phrase 'meritocracy' as a satire and a warning of a dystopian future which the elite would reach.
Lim Tean informs in this video "Young warned us of the impact a meritocracy would have on those at the bottom of this ladder of human capability. It is unjust to live poor because you were born poor, and because the system is set up to preserve the hierarchies of class. But to live poor because society’s rules have judged you and found you wanting – judged you to be without merit? That is to strip a person of all dignity."

All of us at Peoples Voice hope you enjoy this video and will tune in to Part 2 on education, during which Lim Tean spells out Peoples Voice plan to make pre-school, primary and secondary education in Singapore free for all Singaporeans.
Part 3 will address climate change and the impactful measures we should be taking as a nation.
