Every #1 Song in Triple J's Annual Hottest 100 - A Retrospective
From a mail-in poll run by a mainly Sydney-focused radio station to "the world's greatest music democracy", Triple J's Hottest 100 polls have become an institution in Australia throughout the past 3 decades.
These are the songs that received the most votes for each yearly poll, and the artists behind them. Whose Hottest 100 success acted as a springboard to further success, and whose number ones signalled the peak of a career that would go downhill afterwards?
