Home Canned Butter

I have been canning my butter for 2 years. This method has worked for me. I heat the jars in the oven, melt the butter and bring it nearly to a boil. Ladle into the hot jars, cap and set on the cabinet. I walk by every 5 minutes and shake each jar. After they cool about 1 hour, I put them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. I shake them at least twice while they are in the refrigerator. Take them out, write date on them and store them in a cool dark cabinet. This home canned butter will last about 3 years.
