The ever gentle, profound and nuanced singing of the much missed Lorraine Hunt Lieberson in Phèdre's aria, "Cruelle mère des amours", from Rameau's Hyppolite et Aricie. Her singing, just like her photos, has a kind of Classical beauty and harmony that is very rare to find especially nowadays, and her voice had a vibrancy and inner expressivity - though always very discreet and subtle - that turned her interpretations extremely engaging and full of meaning.
